NAIL SURGERY
From start to finish, you can be assured of a safe and effective treatment.
At Deeping Podiatry and Chiropody, we understand that any foot problem needs dealing with in a safe and careful manner. That's why all our podiatrists are fully qualified and experienced to deal with a wide range of conditions.
Our nail surgery is performed under local anaesthetic for partial or total nail avulsions. All dressing and post-operative care will be provided at our clinic.
Nail surgery procedure
You will be advised of the best option of treatment for your ingrown toenail, whether a partial or total avulsion is necessary.
You will undergo surgery in comfortable surroundings. We will administer a local anaesthetic to the toe and part or the entire nail will be removed.
A chemical called Phenol will be applied to the nail bed. This will prevent re-growth of the nail, or part of the nail that has been removed.
Once completed, your toe will be dressed and we will advise you of your post-operative care. You will return to the clinic within 3-5 days of the surgery for check-ups.

COMMON FOOT PROBLEMS

Providing bio-mechanical assessments allows us to effectively analyse poor movement techniques due to gait abnormalities, which can lead to strains, sprains and back pain.
Once the assessment is complete, we will advise you on the next step to take and prescribe custom made shoe inserts (orthoses). If these are necessary, we obtain them from Paragon Orthotic Lab in Canada.
Through understanding your muscle strength, range-of-motion and the angular movements of the limbs, we will help to establish proper stability and techniques of these movements, reducing current pains. Many sports people benefit from these treatments. We treat the following common foot problems:
